Job Details
Beverly Country Club is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to join our Grounds Department team. Beverly is a historic private club located on the south side of Chicago with a strong commitment to championship-level conditioning and continued investment into the golf course and infrastructure. The club is currently undergoing a transformative period with several upcoming capital improvement projects, including a future irrigation system renovation, drainage improvements, bunker work, and continued enhancement of overall course conditions and presentation.
The Assistant Superintendent will work directly alongside the Golf Course Superintendent in all aspects of daily golf course operations. This individual will play a key leadership role in staff management and training while helping execute the club’s agronomic and long-term improvement goals.
Key Responsibilities
-Staff management, scheduling, and training
-Irrigation management, troubleshooting, and repair
-Moisture management and hand watering
-Daily course operations
-Aerification and cultural practices
-Drainage and turf improvement projects
-Tournament preparation and execution
-Equipment operation and project oversight
-Assist with implementation of upcoming capital improvements

Job Requirements
-2–5 years of golf course maintenance experience preferred
-Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
-Experience with pesticide and fertilizer applications
-Knowledge of irrigation systems, troubleshooting, and water management
-Illinois pesticide license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
-Strong communication, organizational, and staff management skills
-Ability to work in a high-expectation, detail-oriented environment
-Prior golf course experience required
