First Tee – Greater Richmond (FTGR) is a youth development organization that uses the game of golf and its inherent values to shape the lives of young people from all walks of life. We are strengthening the character of the community by providing programs that build resilience in our youth, teach critical life skills, and provide caring adult supervision in a safe environment.
FTGR is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent to lead all facets of the golf maintenance operation at The Tattersall Youth Development Center. This position will work with the VP of Agronomy, Director of Turf Equipment, and Assistant Superintendent to provide high level conditions on a daily basis.
This 18-hole, par 66 golf course provides a challenge for all level of golfers. In addition to the 18-hole course, it includes great practice facilities complete with a driving range, practice greens, and a 3-hole development course focused on scoring distances developed by renowned architect Lester George. The golf course is grassed with Tifway 419 bermudagrass on tees, fairways, and rough while using L-93 bentgrass across 2 acres of greens.

- GCSAA and VGCSA dues paid annually
Job Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Possess State Pesticide Applicator License
- Proven experience in proactively leading and managing a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to provide and retain data via electronic means for informing the leadership and utilization for future analytics
- Excellent understanding of the game of golf and its relationship between agronomic practices, the game itself, and philosophy of First Tee
