Assistant Superintendent – The Golf Club

About The Golf Club:

The Golf Club, a private 18-hole golf-only facility designed by Pete Dye and opened in 1967. Consistently ranked among the Top 100 Golf Courses by leading publications, our 500-acre property features scenic landscapes, including Blacklick Creek, native areas, old-growth forests, and several picturesque water features. Recent upgrades include 20 USGA greens, redesigned bunkers, a Toro 2-wire irrigation system (renovated in 2013 under Pete Dye’s direction), and a fairway master drainage plan completed in 2021.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our team. Working closely with the Director of Grounds, Superintendent, fellow Assistants, and Equipment Manager you will contribute to high-level golf course maintenance. Key responsibilities include:

• Plant health applications and record-keeping
• Water Management
• Irrigation system maintenance
• In-house project execution
• Staff training, leadership, and supervision

Qualifications:

• 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field
• 2-3 years of golf course maintenance experience 
• Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Detail-oriented with high personal standards
• Self-starter and takes accountability
• Ability to lead by example and uphold the club’s culture and vision
• Physically capable of performing maintenance tasks and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ideal candidates will have a passion for golf, and desire to provide a world class experience
