Winged Foot Golf Club 2026 Seasonal Internship

Winged Foot Golf Club is a 36-hole facility located in Mamaroneck NY, just 10 miles north of New York City. The club has a long history of hosting major championships and is one of the only properties in the country to have two Top 100 ranked golf courses. Winged Foot will be hosting the 2028 U.S. Open.

We are looking to add motivated turfgrass interns to our team for the 2026 season. Interns are an integral part of our team and will be very hands-on with all parts of our maintenance operation. We expect interns to be self-starters and have a desire to maintain two golf courses at major championship conditioning. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that is preparing to host the U.S. Open in 2028. We strongly believe in retention and promotion from within our team. Our goal is to help you gain the skills and knowledge to become a successful Golf Course Superintendent in your career.

Responsibilities

• Mowing and rolling of all playing surfaces
• Course Setup - Hole locations, tee setup, details
• Proper moisture management on poa/bent playing surfaces
• Hand watering, use of RainBird Cirrus Pro, TDR moisture meters
• Fertilizer and chemical applications, calibration and record keeping
• John Deere GPS, Toro 1750s, Spray hawks, Backpack
• Irrigation Maintenance
• Adjusting heads, pipe repair, troubleshooting wire issues
• Cultural practices
• Topdressing, aeration, spiking, grooming
• Communicate and work with a crew of up to 55 employees
• Assist with maintenance of ornamental beds and landscapes
• Projects
• Drainage, SubAir, irrigation, landscape improvements
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations
