Assistant Superintendent

Hawks Landing Golf Club,  seeks an exceptional and highly motivated Senior Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure the course consistently meets the highest standards of conditioning and playability. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of agronomy, turfgrass management, and a passion for delivering firm and fast exceptional playing conditions daily.

Key Responsibilities:

• Course Maintenance and Agronomy: Collaborate with the Superintendent to develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance plan, encompassing all aspects of turfgrass health, irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease control, and overall course aesthetics.

• Personnel Management: Oversee and direct the daily activities of the grounds crew, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professionalism. Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure optimal productivity and adherence to safety protocols.

• Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of the annual maintenance budget, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

• Irrigation and Water Management: Monitor and optimize irrigation systems to ensure firm and fast playing conditions.

• Course Improvements: Participate in the planning and execution of course improvement projects, including bunker renovations, drainage enhancements, and tree management.

• Environmental Stewardship: Implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact, conserve resources, and promote ecological balance.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, pesticide applications, and other relevant data.

• Continuing Education: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in turfgrass management, agronomy, and golf course maintenance through professional development opportunities.
