Job Details
The Country Club is a private 18-hole facility located on 250 acres in Pepper Pike, Ohio. Known for being a family-oriented club, it provides numerous amenities to its members with the golf course being the focal point. Famed golf course architect William Flynn masterfully blended the routing of each golf hole with the natural topography to create a gem that is regarded as one of Flynn’s greatest designs, and consistently ranks as one of the top courses in Ohio. The rich-history of the club also includes hosting national events with the 1935 U.S. Amateur and the 2012 U.S. Women’s Amateur.

In August 2022, renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse began restoring the golf course to emulate Flynn’s original design culminating with the re-opening in May 2023. The work included:
- Green expansions and rebuilds of 30,000 square feet using existing nursery sod
- Fairway re-grassing & expansions
- New Tee construction
- Tree maintenance
- Re-construction of all bunkers using Better Billy Bunker
- New short game area added to the practice facility
- Installation of new irrigation around greens and tees
The applicant will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance with a focus on development and advancement in their career. Duties include, but not limited to:
- Moisture management
- Providing firm and fast conditions daily on native push-up Poa greens
- Equipment operation
- Irrigation troubleshooting and repair
- Toro Lynx irrigation system
- Plant protectant calibration and applications
- Involvement in the planning and implementation of IPM strategies
- Project management and team leadership
- Involvement in Green Committee and Construction project meetings
- Week working with the mechanics learning the fundamentals of equipment maintenance

Job Requirements
Previous golf course experience preferred but not required.
The applicant shall be working towards completing/ completed a Turfgrass Management or closely related field in a Certificate, 2-year, or 4-year program.
A strong desire to succeed within the Turf industry along with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
