THE COUNTRY CLUB — 2026 Turfgrass Intern

Job Details

The Country Club is a private 18-hole facility located on 250 acres in Pepper Pike, Ohio.  Known for being a family-oriented club, it provides numerous amenities to its members with the golf course being the focal point.  Famed golf course architect William Flynn masterfully blended the routing of each golf hole with the natural topography to create a gem that is regarded as one of Flynn’s greatest designs, and consistently ranks as one of the top courses in Ohio. The rich-history of the club also includes hosting national events with the 1935 U.S. Amateur and the 2012 U.S. Women’s Amateur.

“Two of the best holes you’ll find anywhere. These were innovative, sight-specific holes. William Flynn used bunkers in the less dramatic holes and let the land dictate where the routing should go.”  -- Wayne Morrison, author of “The Nature Faker” referencing holes #15 & #17

In August 2022, renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse began restoring the golf course to emulate Flynn’s original design culminating with the re-opening in May 2023. The work included:

  • Green expansions and rebuilds of 30,000 square feet using existing nursery sod
  • Fairway re-grassing & expansions
  • New Tee construction
  • Tree maintenance
  • Re-construction of all bunkers using Better Billy Bunker
  • New short game area added to the practice facility
  • Installation of new irrigation around greens and tees

The applicant will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance with a focus on development and advancement in their career.  Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Moisture management
