Assistant Superintendent

Cypress Golf Course Services provides golf course maintenance services on numerous courses throughout the Southeastern region. Our company is experiencing significant growth and this is an entry level position that possesses advancement opportunity.

Duties

· Assists the Golf Course Superintendent in managing all phases of golf course maintenance.

· Oversees and participates in all fertility and plant protectant programs, irrigation installation and repairs.

· Assists with planning, scheduling, instructing, training, and directing crew in the performance of golf course maintenance procedures and job responsibilities.

· Performs checks of processes throughout the day.

· Oversees chemical and fertilizer applications and assists as necessary.

· Advises Superintendent of course conditions.

· Oversees cleanup and storage of tools and equipment at the end of the shift.

· Advises the Superintendent of all performance issues and enforces of performance standards.

· Assumes management responsibilities as needed in the absence of the Superintendent.

· Communicates with players, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.

· Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.

· Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent.

Educational Requirements

· Associate’s degree (A.S.) in Agronomy or Horticulture - Desired a minimum of two years related experience and/or equivalent combination for related education and experience.

· Previous management experience required.

· Acquire State of Georgia Commercial Applicator license in Ornamental and Turf within six months of employment.

· GCSAA membership.

· Valid Georgia driver license and a good driving record.
