Denver Parks and Recreation’s Golf Division is looking to hire a motivated Second Assistant Superintendent/Irrigation Technician to join our team at Wellshire Golf Course. This role supports daily course operations, including irrigation system maintenance and assisting with the supervision of the maintenance team.
Specifically, as a Second Assistant Superintendent/Irrigation Technician for Wellshire Golf Course you will:
- At times direct, train, and supervise seasonal course staff and be the go-to full time staff for all course maintenance and communication
- Assist with fertilizer and chemical applications
- Perform irrigation system maintenance
- Monitor and troubleshoot irrigation system issues as they arise
- Read irrigation drawings and performs construction and maintenance/repair and replacement of broken parts on various equipment including pipes, sprinklers, hoses, and more
- Research, introduce, and execute sustainable irrigation practices at the course
- Participate in other course maintenance responsibilities including mowing, snow removal, supervision, customer communication, and coordination with the Golf Pro Shop
- Operate and maintain various lightweight vehicles and equipment

Job Requirements
Experience working on golf course operations
Experience maintaining and repairing irrigation equipment
Experience working with Toro Links Operating System (or similar systems)
A professional demeanor and collaborative spirit
Experience with managing others
Experience with fertilizer and chemical applications
Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
ability to obtain State of Colorado Pesticide licensure with 12 months of employment
