Sebonack Golf Club is inviting enthusiastic turf professionals to apply for Assistant position with our Agronomy Team
Situated on 300 acres in Southampton, NY Sebonack Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus / Tom Doak collaboration. The 2013 host site for the USGA Women's Open Championship Sebonack is consistently ranked among Golf Digest Top 100.
Managing bentgrass greens complementing fine fescue fairways this wind swept Peconic Bay site offers a unique opportunity to experience sea-side style management. This position will allow the individual to be closely involved with the intensely managed playing surfaces on a daily basis. Sebonack Golf Club is committed to providing the finest playing conditions while improving on the facility annually. A capital improvement list and schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
While working along Superintendent and fellow Assistants to carry out the daily goals. An emphasis on strong culture building, professional development, and a work-life balance will be a priority.

Job Requirements
Past experience is required although a management position is not required. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
A Team Player who will thrive in a multi-assistant role
A positive attitude and ability to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Strong understanding of golf course set up as it plays a crucial role in our day to day
Experience with Hand watering to maintain championship conditions
Possess a strong understanding of disease/insect identification
Ability to carry out chemical and fertilizer applications
A 2 or 4 year Degree or Certificate in the Plant and Soil Sciences
A professional appearance and demeanor is mandatory
An ability to assist with planning, training, and directing of maintenance personnel
An understanding of simple irrigation principals
Restoration projects
Ability to secure a NYSDEC Commercial Pesticide Applicators License
A clear understanding of the commitment needed to manage a Top 100 facility
