The Assistant-in-Training (A.I.T.) position at Myopia Hunt Club provides a distinctive opportunity for individuals seeking to build a strong foundation in the turf industry. Candidates will work closely with the management team and gain hands-on experience in daily course preparation, agronomic practices, irrigation repair and maintenance, chemical and fertilizer calibration and application, record keeping, and water management. Additionally, the club is currently preparing a Gil Hanse golf course master plan, along with plans for a new maintenance facility, offering exposure to significant upcoming projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Application of pesticides and plant protectants to fairways, greens, and tees
- Water management, including hand watering and moisture monitoring
- Fertilizer calibration and application
- Supervision and leadership of small crews
- Participation in aerification and other cultural practices
- Execution of small projects and course improvements
- Daily course setup
- Walk mowing of greens
- Walk mowing of tees and collars

Job Requirements
Working knowledge of the game of golf, with one to two seasons of golf-related experience required.
Enrollment in, or completion of, a Turf Management program or a closely related academic discipline.
Demonstrated positive attitude and strong work ethic, with the ability to perform effectively in a fun, fast-paced, and collaborative work environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
