Turf Specialist/Agronomist

Collins Wharf Sod is looking to add a highly motivated individual to join our sod production team.  This is a great opportunity for someone that is detail oriented with the ability to handle challenges day to day.   The candidate must have strong interpersonal communication skills, positive team player with the ability to multi-task, learn and adapt depending on day to day needs of the business.

• Overview of Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to (day to day):
  • Manage both warm and cool season grass varieties -  maintenance and operations
    • Concentration on Bent grass, as well as Zoysia, Bermuda, Bluegrass, Fine Fescue, and Turf Type Tall Fescue
  • Proactively inspect and diagnose potential turf issues
  • Oversee and help execute our irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticide systems and procedures
  • Operational knowledge of sod harvesters, forklifts, mowers, tractors and all equipment that are essential to day to day farm needs
  • Farm equipment oversight - maintenance and repair to ensure operations are ongoing
  • Perform general labor as needed around the farm
