Nestled among the pristine lakes and forests of Northern Wisconsin, Minocqua Country Club is a private 18-hole championship course consistently ranked among the top private clubs in the state. We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Golf Course & Grounds Intern for the 2026 season to join our team and gain hands-on experience in high-level turf and grounds management.

Our internship program offers a comprehensive learning experience, exposing interns to every aspect of golf course operations. You’ll work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent while developing essential skills that will prepare you for a successful career in turfgrass management.

The 2026 season will be an exciting one, featuring a course-wide construction project focused on tee renovations, drainage upgrades, and expansion of green surrounds—offering a rare opportunity to gain valuable construction and renovation experience.

Key Responsibilities

·        Supervise and manage small crews on daily tasks

·        Perform irrigation system repairs and troubleshooting

·        Apply and calibrate fertilizers and plant protectants

·        Manage water use and perform hand watering as needed

·        Collect and analyze turf data (moisture, firmness, stimp meter readings)

·        Assist with aerification and cultural practices

·        Operate a variety of golf course maintenance equipment (tractors, loaders, mowers)

·        Support the Equipment Technician with repairs and preventive maintenance

·        Participate in daily course setup, mowing greens, tees, and collars

·        Gain hands-on experience with:

o   Green expansions

o   Bunker reconstruction

o   Tee and fairway construction and expansion

o   Native area restoration and sandy area development

Compensation & Benefits

·        $20/hour plus overtime pay (higher wages negotiable for strong candidates)
