The Ridgewood Country Club is seeking a motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our agronomy leadership team. This is a year-round opportunity within a championship-caliber operation built on structure, accountability, and professional development.

Founded in 1890, The Ridgewood Country Club has 27 holes across 260 acres with approximately 30,000 rounds played annually. Ridgewood has hosted numerous USGA, LPGA and PGA Tour events and continues to operate at a championship standard every day.
Beginning in Fall 2025, Ridgewood embarked on a multi-year, phased greens reconstruction to full USGA specifications, including SubAir installation. Three additional greens are scheduled for 2026, with full completion targeted by 2030. The selected candidate will gain exposure to construction coordination, post-build performance management, and data-driven agronomic decision-making.
This position is designed for a developing turf professional ready to begin their management track with responsibility expanding as trust and performance are demonstrated.

A skilled full-time and seasonal maintenance staff
Assistants play an active role in mentoring and supervising student interns while developing their own leadership skills.
This is a collaborative environment where responsibility is earned and mentorship is active. Clear communication, accountability, and steady growth are expected.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in daily golf course maintenance and championship-level conditioning

Participate in moisture management and agronomic decision-making

Lead small crews and oversee assigned projects

Perform chemical and fertilizer applications

Assist with irrigation troubleshooting and diagnostics

Support capital improvement and greens reconstruction projects

Maintain accurate records and contribute to data-driven planning

Uphold club standards and team culture
Job Benefits
$75,000 to $80,000 annual salary

Job Requirements
1–2 seasons of golf course maintenance experience required
Early-career Assistant experience welcome
New Jersey pesticide license (or ability to obtain in 2026)
Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
Strong work ethic and willingness to embrace high standards
Coachable, adaptable, and open to feedback within a structured agronomy program
Professional demeanor with the ability to represent the department well with members and staff
Malleable mindset with a desire to learn, grow, and assume increasing responsibility
