Position Summary
Foxchase Golf Club, a high-volume public golf facility, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry-Level Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our maintenance team. This position is ideal for a recent Turfgrass Management graduate or an individual looking to begin a long-term career in golf course management.
The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent in maintaining quality playing conditions while learning all aspects of course operations, staff leadership, and turfgrass management in a fast-paced public golf environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist in planning and executing daily golf course maintenance operations
-Supervise and train maintenance staff, including scheduling and task delegation
-Monitor turf health and assist with agronomic programs including fertilization, irrigation, and pest management
-apply fertilizers and pesticides safely and compliance with regulations
Assist with irrigation system scheduling, maintenance, and repair
-Operate and maintain turf equipment as needed
-Ensure course setup meets club standards (tees, greens, bunkers, fairways, and rough)
-Maintain accurate records of chemical applications, weather conditions, and maintenance activities
-Promote a safe and professional work environment
-Assist with special projects and course improvements

Job Requirements
Qualifications
Required:
-Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field (or golf course maintenance experience)
-Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
-Valid driver’s license
-Ability to obtain or maintain pesticide applicator license within 6 months of hire
-Strong organizational and communication skills
-Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred:
-internship or seasonal experience on a golf course or sports turf facility
-Basic knowledge of irrigation systems
-Equipment operation experience
Physical Requirements
-Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
-Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs
-Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and equipment operation
