Hollow Brook Golf Club is seeking a Head Mechanic / Equipment Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated equipment technician who is ready to step up from a #2 mechanic position into a leadership role and take ownership of a well-regarded golf course equipment operation.

The Head Mechanic / Equipment Manager will play a key role in maintaining the club’s equipment fleet and supporting the golf course maintenance team through dependable, organized, and high-quality equipment management.
The Head Mechanic / Equipment Manager is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and overall management of the golf course equipment fleet. This role works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to ensure all equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and at a high standard. The successful candidate will be organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to help build and improve the equipment maintenance program.

Perform preventative maintenance and repair on all golf course maintenance equipment

Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on a wide range of equipment

Establish and manage a preventative maintenance program for the equipment fleet

Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, parts inventory, and equipment history

Manage parts ordering and inventory in an organized and cost-effective manner

Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment

Communicate equipment needs, repair timelines, and replacement recommendations to management

Assist in equipment setup, grinding, and adjustment to meet golf course expectations

Help evaluate fleet condition and contribute to long-term equipment planning

Ensure all equipment is operating safely and train staff on proper use when needed

Job Requirements
Experience repairing and maintaining turf equipment, small engines, diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to organize a shop and implement systems for maintenance and inventory
Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Good communication skills and a professional approach
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the role
Prior golf course equipment experience preferred
This position is especially well-suited for a candidate looking to advance from an assistant or #2 mechanic role into a head mechanic position
