Job Details
Located in Okatie, South Carolina, Callawassie Island Club is a private, gated community and home of the Big East Conference Championship. The Club features twenty-seven holes of championship golf designed by Tom Fazio, arranged as three distinct nine-hole courses: Dogwood, Magnolia, and Palmetto.
Over the past several years, Callawassie Island has completed an extensive, multi-year renovation of all twenty-seven holes, including major upgrades to drainage and irrigation systems, turfgrass varieties, and the installation of Better Billy Bunkers. These improvements have elevated overall course conditions while positioning the Club for long-term agronomic success.
Situated between Beaufort and Bluffton in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry, the island offers convenient access to the beaches of Hilton Head Island and the historic waterfront of downtown Beaufort.

Job Requirements
Thorough understanding of the game of golf and its influence on course setup and daily playing conditions.
Self-disciplined with a strong commitment to developing and maintaining high-quality playing surfaces
Ability to effectively manage small projects from planning through completion
Basic knowledge of irrigation and drainage systems, chemical and fertilizer applications, golf course equipment, water/moisture management, record keeping, and inventory control.
Demonstrate leadership skills and team first mindset.
Positive attitude with the ability to work with others while assisting in managing all aspects of golf course maintenance.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Committed to continuous professional development and progression within the golf course management profession
Certificate or 2-4 year Turf degree or related field.
1-2 years experience in a turf related field preferred but not required.
Ability to work outdoors in various climate conditions
Ability to work around moving and mechanical equipment.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
Works well with others.
